Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan has praised Australian batter Glenn Maxwell’s remarkable unbeaten 201 against Afghanistan in the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup, describing the innings as more memorable than his own recent match-winning century.

Shadab delivered an outstanding performance against England in Lahore, scoring 113 not out from 96 balls. His innings helped Pakistan secure a thrilling one-wicket victory in a closely contested match.

Despite his impressive achievement, Shadab highlighted Maxwell’s extraordinary World Cup performance, which played a major role in keeping Australia’s campaign alive. Australia went on to win the 2023 ODI World Cup, making Maxwell’s innings one of the tournament’s most memorable moments.

Shadab Thanks Team Management for Its Support

Shadab also expressed gratitude to Pakistan’s team management for continuing to support him despite criticism of his earlier performances.

The all-rounder acknowledged the importance of receiving backing during challenging periods and showed his determination to repay that trust through consistent performances.

His latest innings against England demonstrated his ability to make a difference under pressure and contribute when his team needs him most.

Looking Ahead

Following his match-winning performance, Shadab hopes to maintain his form and continue helping Pakistan win important matches. His comments also reflect his admiration for outstanding performances from fellow international cricketers, including Maxwell’s unforgettable World Cup achievement.
